Winter Used Book Sale at Eager Free Public Library
Since their first winter book sale was successful last year, the Friends of the Eager Free Public Library will hold a second winter sale in the library’s lower level meeting room on Saturday, February 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The library is located at 39 W. Main St. in Evansville, WI.

Nothing is priced over $2, and most items are less. Materials include adult fiction, non-fiction including travel, cookbooks, history, etc., children’s books; music CD’s, DVD’s and VHS tapes; quality used magazines about woodworking, health, history, and travel. All items are donated by Friends and others from the Evansville community. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available. There will be a “clear the shelves!” price reduction around noon on Saturday.

Being a member of the Friends has its privileges, like first crack at the books. A special EARLY BIRD sale, Friday, February 11th from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will be open only to Friends of the EFPL. If you are not yet a Friend, you can join at the door Friday. Memberships range from $5 individual annually to a $100 lifetime membership. Memberships are tax-deductible.

If you wish to donate some of your gently used materials to the Friends for this sale, you can bring them to the library before February 6th. Call the library (882-2260) to learn about donation guidelines. Donations may be made at any time of the year, but now would be a good time to look through your shelves for stuff you no longer need. Donations are tax-deductible.

The Friends are a group of dedicated volunteers devoted to enhancing the offerings of the Eager Free Public Library with money raised from activities like this sale. Over the years, the Friends have purchased books and shelving, sponsored illustrated lectures, supported the children’s summer programs and English as a Second Language, and many other activities. The Friends beautify the library grounds every spring with plantings of annuals and perennials.
